Pileggi says he won’t challenge Bob Casey for U.S. Senate seat

And so ends Pa. Sen. Dominic Pileggi’s consideration of a U.S. Senate run.

The Associated Press reports the Senate Majority Leader, who represents parts of Chester and Delaware counties, has decided not to run against Sen. Bob Casey. Pileggi would have gone up against several other Republican candidates in the primary, and risked facing tough questions about running for two offices at once.

Pileggi is the senator behind the proposal to change the state’s electoral college votes.
