Philly, New York go bite-for-bite in “Cheesecake War”

We may never be able to put the Pat’s/Geno’s cheesesteak war to rest (thanks, L.A. Times, for that breaking news) but the cheesecake dilemma may be one we can solve.

For anyone left wondering whether Philly or New York has the best cheesecake, a restaurant from each city is participating in this week’s taste-test. Customers at Davio’s Philadelphia and ‘CESCA in Manhattan can order the rival city’s cheesecake and then rate it with a comment card.

Davio’s will serve up ‘CESCA’s mascarpone cheesecake and Manhattan customers will try Davio’s blueberry cake.

In honor of National Cheesecake Day Saturday, the restaurants will announce the winner on Facebook and Twitter. Look for more details on the war later today from Arts & Culture reporter Peter Crimmins.
