Philly Jazz: A View through the Lens opens this weekend at the Kimmel Center

Kimmel Center jazz photography exhibit to include work by two of NewsWorks’ freelancers. Howard Pitkow and Jason Fifield will be featured in a month long exhibit in Center City beginning April 1 titled Philly Jazz: A View through the Lens.

Kimmel Center Jazz Bridge Executive Director Suzanne Cloud says the “Philly Jazz” exhibit includes photos of Philadelphia jazz musicians and the community that surrounds them, shapes them, and protects them – the venues, the fans, the families.

The other photographers included are: Anthony Dean, L. David Hinton and Ben Johnson. This event is part of Jazz Philadelphia’s Jazz Appreciation Month. The exhibit is free at the Kimmel Center’s Commonwealth Plaza Gallery Space from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and later on performance evenings.
