Philly cracks down on illegal ATVs

Philadelphia police say they have seized nearly two dozen dirt bikes and ATVs as part of a crackdown on illegal riding.

The vehicles were seized Sunday during raids in north Philadelphia and the city’s Kensington neighborhood.

Detective Jack Logan tells the Philadelphia Daily News police “went out to take back the streets for the citizens.”

Logan says officers cascaded across the neighborhoods and confiscated the vehicles, none of which were registered or had proper tags. Logan says riders were issued tickets, but no arrests were made.
