Philadelphia Police officer arrested for assault

    Charges were announced yesterday for a police officer in Philadelphia’s 9th District.

    Aisha Pleasant was indicted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey. The Philadelphia Police Department has not released many details, but said Pleasant has been charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a policeman. The incident occurred March 4 in Atlantic City.

    Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey has suspended Pleasant for 30 days with intent to dismiss.
