Philadelphia going to the dogs … in a good way

It might be a dog-eat-dog world, but Philadelphia is putting out the welcome mat for canine travelers.

Cara Schneider of Visit Philadelphia said the tourism promotion group put together a video that would appeal to those who bring Fido or Fifi on vacation.

“There are at least a dozen hotels that are pet friendly, some don’t charge for having pets, many of them do, some offer grooming and walking services, others just allow dogs in,” she said.

The same is true for many of the city’s cafes, Schneider said.

“A lot of the restaurants actually have water bowls and outdoor seating, and the dogs can see other dogs while they are there,” she said.

Visit Philadelphia is hoping the video will reach travelers who may not have considered the Philadelphia region before.
