Pew distributes $1 million in performing arts funding

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage announced yesterday it has awarded more than $1 million to 10 local theaters, performing arts presenters and independent theater artists.

At $187,000, the Painted Bride Arts Center at Second and Vine streets received the most funding. Theater artist Charlotte Ford received the smallest grant. Her $20,000 award will go toward her project to analyze women’s ability to be funny and sexy on stage. Click here for the full grant list.
