Before the masses of horticultural enthusiasts descend upon the Pennsylvania Convention Center’s showroom floor, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s most avid supporters were treated to a black-tie preview party event held on March 2, at the 2013 Philadelphia Flower Show.

The 2013 show, aptly named “Brilliant!” brings the majesty of Great Britain to Philadelphia for two full weekends, running through Sunday, March 10. During the Preview Party, guests enjoyed cocktails and dishes inspired by traditional British fare while strolling the exhibit.

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the 2013 “Hamilton Horticourt” named for PHS President Mrs. Samuel M.V. Hamilton.

Special events continue throughout the week with special celebrity appearances on Thursday and Sunday.

The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show is the nation’s largest indoor flower show. Proceeds from the event benefit year-round PHS programs, including the PHS City Harvest program, which creates green jobs and supports a network of community gardens that raise fresh produce for more than 1,000 families in need each week during the growing season.
