Pennsylvania court documents now available in app form
Facebook and Twitter can tell you a lot about the person you’re dating, the nanny you’re hiring or the coworker sitting next to you. But it’s all user-shared information.
If you want to know who around you has lingering parking tickets, robbery arrests or rape convictions, only the court papers can tell you. And now you can do your poking around right from your smartphone.
An Iowa lawyer has created a mobile app that searches all Pennsylvania court records.
“We wanted to launch our app in a state with a large percentage of smartphone users and where there was an existing database of criminal records,” Matt Haindfield explains in a release. Enter Pennsylvania and the Docket in Your Pocket (DYP) app for Apple and Android.
Haindfield developed the app as a way for professionals to get quick, accurate information. Who else needs that kind of information? Haindfield says the biggest user base is among single women looking up dates, parents hiring nannies, college kids checking out roommates and cops working their beats.
Apps will be available in the rest of the 49 states in the coming months.
