Parking Authority strikes again
It’s god’s gift to Philadelphia journalism – the Philadelphia Parking Authority. A guy is driving in center city, sees an elderly woman hit by a car, puts on his flashers to assist, and a gets a parking authority ticket – AFTER a police officer pleads with the ticket-writer that the guy is a good Samaritan who deserves a break. It gets better – you’ll want to read all the way to the end of Ronnie Polaneczky’s piece in the Philadelphia Daily News about this story.
I’ve both reported on and enjoyed reading about the patronage-laden Parking Authority’s misadventures since the 1980’s, and it’s great to see they’re still a source of such entertainment.
And I’ll add this thought: those who say Philadelphia suffers from one-party dominance should look at how much better the Parking Authority is since the Democratic hacks running it were replaced by Republican hacks.
