Panel works to create new fire district in Western Chester Co.

Three Western Chester County fire companies could be merging together into one to help improve the use of fire and emergency resources in the area.

In a story from the Daily Local News, a panel is now considering the new fire district, which would combine the efforts of Atglen, Parkesburg and Pomeroy fire companies.

According to the report, the three companies serve six municipalities.

To add to their already growing challenges, a local ambulance service has recently closed, which some say further emphasizes the need to operate as one fire district, according to the Daily Local News.
