Pa. Turnpike spill damaged more than 450 vehicles

The “goo” that turned out to be a tar-like chemical that slowed traffic on the Pennsylvania Turnpike just before Thanksgiving damaged more than 450 vehicles.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports 464 motorists have reported damage to turnpike authorities after their cars became stuck in the roofing asphalt that spilled from a tanker truck over the eastbound lanes between the New Castle exit and the Oakmont service plaza.

Drivers were instructed to call the tanker’s insurance company to report damages.
