Outdoor Menorah Lighting event and Chanukah Wonderland coming to Chestnut Hill

Rabbi Yitzchok Gurevitz of West Mt. Airy’s Chabad-Lubavitch of Northwest Philadelphia tells NewsWorks that an outdoor Menorah Lighting Celebration will take Wednesday night at the Chestnut Hill Plaza, Germantown Ave. near Cresheim Valley Drive.

Organizers of the 6:30 p.m. event, at which hot latkes and cider will be served, invite all “to join in the festivities celebrating the beginning of the eight-day holiday” of Chanukah.

It also serves as a lead in to the fourth year of Chestnut Hill’s Chanukah Wonderland, a “unique experience of Judaic activity and entertainment for children of all ages.” It will run from Thanksgiving Day through Dec. 3 at 7932 Germantown Ave., near Willow Grove Ave.

“The Chanukah Wonderland will provide families in the area with the opportunity for celebrating Chanukah in a very hands-on and engaging manner,” said Gurevitz, director of the event’s host and sponsor, Chabad of Northwest Philadelphia.
