Operations suspended at Bensalem’s Union Fire Company

Bensalem Township’s Department of Public Safety says the decision to suspend operations at its Union Fire Company won’t jeopardize public safety.

Citing “incidents and issues” over the last year or so, the department made the decision to temporarily suspend operations for what Bensalem Patch reports is a loss of confidence in the company’s leadership.

A release from the Department of Public Safety says the choice should not reflect poorly on the township’s many loyal volunteer firefighters, but says Union Company leadership “failed to follow both the administrative and operational directives from the township.”
