Open Mic at Wired Beans (Slideshow)

Nearly 20 performers turned out for this Wednesday’s Open Mic night at Mt. Airy’s Wired Beans Café. This was a pretty vibrant music scene for a place that just opened in December. The folks at Mt. Airy USA must be pleased with what’s happening to the lower Germantown Avenue corridor. The CDC helped Robert Wheeler out with a few things in getting his business going.

The music scene here got its start from a customer. A cheerful man named Sad Patrick asked Wheeler if he could organize an open mic event at the shop. Patrick lives close by and is himself a musician. He was looking for a place to perform and he apparently has a lot of talented musician friends. Each Wednesday Patrick brings in his audio equipment to the coffee shop and invites anyone who thinks they have talent to perform.

We snapped a few photos from the event for you to see. Enjoy!
