On the rise

More than two-thirds of jobs gained in the area between November 2009 and November 2010 were in Philadelphia. In what’s the largest 12-month increase in more than two year, the city brought in 3,500 jobs. The total five-county area brought in 5,200 jobs.
The Business Journal reports Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia and Montgomery counties added 8,900 jobs in the health and education professions, 2,500 in professional and business services and 1,200 each in leisure and hospitality and trade, transportation, and utilities. Mining, logging, construction, finance, manufacturing, information and government jobs; however, all experienced losses.
