Off-duty Philadelphia officer dies in hit-and-run
An off-duty Philadelphia police officer has died in a hit-and-run crash.
Authorities say 42-year-old Lamar Poole’s motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Roosevelt Boulevard on Sunday afternoon.
Police say the driver fled, but was detained about a block away.
Poole was pronounced dead at a hospital. The 18-year veteran of the police force is survived by a wife and seven children.
Charges are pending against the motorist. His name has not been released.
