Obama releases homebrew beer recipes

In response to public pressure, the White House has released two of President Obama’s personal homebrew recipes.

According to a post on the White House blog, President Obama brought home a brewing kit for the kitchen sometime last year.

Its been reported that [high-level?] White House staffers gave the president some brewing tips and recipe input.

Since the first official batch of White House Honey Brown Ale, POTUS and his camp have added a Honey Porter and Honey Blonde to their repertoire, leading to a round of White House firsts.

The honey for the brews came from the “first ever bee-hive on the South Lawn.”

And “as far as we know the White House Honey Brown Ale is the first alcohol brewed or distilled on the White House grounds,” said White House Blogger, Sam Kass. “George Washington brewed beer and distilled whiskey at Mount Vernon and Thomas Jefferson made wine but there’s no evidence that any beer has been brewed in the White House.”
