Not a washout today

So what’s the deal with precipitation today?

Widespread shower activity is currently moving through North Jersey, with more on the way. Widely scattered showers are now passing through portions of southern areas. The afternoon look “ok.” Thunderstorms are possible later, with South Jersey more likely to see them than further north. So we’re not talking about a washout here. Mostly cloudy all day. HIgh temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Tonight, a cold front will pass through the Garden State, with quick scattered showers and thunderstorms likely but ending overnight.

Sunday is the pick of the weekend. A northwest flow courtesy of a Canadian high pressure system will arrive, delivering crisp, fall-like conditions. Breezy. High temperatures in the upper 70s along the coast and low 80s inland. Monday’s also a winner.

BOAT/BEACH: No bright blue skies and brilliant sunshine. West wind at around 10 mph. The breakers and swells are around two feet. The ocean temperature is about 70 degrees, and there is a low risk of rip currents, but always swim near a lifeguard.
