North Philly non-profit planning used-bike sales throughout June

Have you caught bike fever yet this spring?

If you’re looking for a low-cost option to get yourself on the road, Neighborhood Bike Works is kicking off a month worth of bike sales today. The non-profit offers cheap used bikes, spare parts, tubes and tires.

Earnings from the sale will go toward scholarships for Neighborhood Bike Works summer programs. Neighborhood Bike Works, based in North Philadelphia, advocates for educational and recreational opportunities for underserved kids.

Today’s sale runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 3916 Locust Walk, on the Penn campus, near St. Mary’s Church. A bigger sale is happening next Saturday at the same place from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Several other sales will occur throughout the month.
