North Jersey man uses sandwich board to find a wealthy wife

Robert Darling wants a wife and he’s got just one main requirement of his bride-to-be: she should have a net worth of $750,000.

Darling’s Bradley Beach residence may be a little out of the way for us, but when intern Amelia Possanza found his story, we thought maybe he could use a little help with his search.

Darling spends one day a week wearing a sandwich board on the streets of Manhattan, where he hopes one of the many interested ladies who stops for a photo will stick around for a ring. The 56-year-old typically unfolds his board in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Columbus Circle or Wall Street, according to this pretty detailed article from the Wall Street Journal.

Perhaps he could stand to update the board. He’s been panhandling for a wife since 2001.
