Nominate a young environmentalist in Delaware

Delaware’s Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is looking for nominees for its 19th annual young environmentalist awards. Nominations will be accepted until June 15.

Teachers, classmates, parents, and club leaders are encouraged to nominate students who are working work to protect, restore, or enhance Delaware’s natural resources.

Delaware’s Young Environmentalist program honors students from grades 1 – 12 and have demonstrated environmental stewardship, initiated an innovative project, increased public awareness, or demonstrated environmental ethics.

A $100 savings bond will be given to each of the three winners during an awards ceremony that will be held on Governor’s Day at the 2012 Delaware State Fair on Thursday, July 26.
