No Pants Subway Ride returns to Philly Sunday

What better way to spend a warm winter Sunday than riding SEPTA in your underwear? It’s not like there’s an Eagles game to watch.

The annual “No Pants Subway Ride” returns to Philly this weekend. Participants will gather at Broad and Arch at 3 p.m.The route will take countless sets of bare legs on the Broad Street Line from City Hall to Ellsworth-Federal Station, then back to City Hall and all the way east on the Market-Frankford Line to the Frankford Transportation Center.

SEPTA’s throwing a wrench in the plan, though, by announcing bus-only service along the El route between 11th and 30th streets as part of the ongoing construction beneath Dilworth Plaza.

There are very specific instructions for participating on the event’s Facebook page, which include the following note: “Please wear underwear. This isn’t the naked bike ride.”
