NJ Transit launches real-time bus-tracking app

NJ Transit is taking some of the guesswork out of commuting.

Thursday, the transit company will debut the “Where’s my bus?” smartphone app so customers can track their routes in real time.

Twice as many NJ Transit riders use buses than trains, according to a Star-Ledger report, and the app will let those customers know whether they’ve missed the latest train or can expect one soon.

Riders in the Princeton/Trenton area can begin using the app Thursday, and NJ Transit expects to expand the app to the entire state by early spring.
