NFL lockout could affect Delaware’s gaming revenue

Delaware casinos are the only ones east of the Mississippi with legal sports betting. Which means the state’s bank account could take a hit if the NFL lockout continues.

As WHYY’s Mark Fowser reports, the state’s general fund took in $2.2. million in sports betting during the NFL’s 2010 season. Because no other sports betting is legal and many NFL bettors stick around for horse betting and table games, a lockout could have an enormous financial impact on the state.
