Newspapers in city and suburbs seek bankruptcy protection

    The owner of Philadelphia’s two biggest newspapers has filed for bankruptcy protection. Philadelphia Newspapers Incorporated is seeking bankruptcy protection in an effort to restructure its $390 million debt.
