New venture

DuPont is buying Danish food ingredients maker Danisco for $5.8 billion. Already a joint venture partner with the Delaware chemical company, Copenhagen-based Danisco makes enzymes and specialty food ingredients.
The Wilmington News Journal reports the deal is part of DuPont’s eagerness to expand its operations. Eager indeed — the purchase includes $500 million in debt.
