New restaurant will give free doughnuts to customers left in the lurch

Federal Doughnuts opened last week to a willing customer base. So willing, in fact, the restaurant that serves only doughnuts, fried chicken and coffee ran out of food.

Anyone there for opening day who waited for their turn at the counter only to find the “fancy doughnuts” had all been snatched up is getting a little treat from the owners. The Philadelphia Business Journal reports Federal Doughnuts collected the email addresses of everyone who didn’t get to order. A weekend email to those customers made this promise: two free doughnuts.
