New Jersey, Pennsylvania Congressmen on list of nation’s wealthiest

    With $294.21 million in assets, Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas is Congress’ wealthiest member. He’s got a decent lead on the second-wealthiest member. California’s Darrell Issa has $295.40 million in assets, but $75 million in liabilities.

    Roll Call, a Capitol Hill newspaper, calculated the nation’s 50 wealthiest Congress members based on their assets and liabilities.

     

    Coming in at No. 7 is Frank Lautenberg. The New Jersey Democrat is worth $55.07 million. Republican N.J. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen is worth $20.53 million and comes in at No. 12. Freshman Pa. Rep. Mike Kelly is at No. 21 with $11.90 million.
