Navy Yard school program featured on CNN Sunday
Students in the Navy Yard’s Sustainability Workshop have gotten plenty of local attention.
Sunday, they’ll go national when CNN features a report on the program.
It’s int he South Philadelphia building that Simon Hauger and students from three city high schools work to study energy efficiency and climate change.
“It truly is the future economy and we think our children need to be on the forefront of that,” Hauger told NewsWorks in October. “[The students] need to be on the cusp of that, not getting invited in after all the good jobs are filled.”
Sunday, CNN will take a look at the workshop, its relationship with Urban Outfitters, Inc., and the grants that have helped the partnership.
