Much warmer today, especially at the coast

Temperatures are much more mild today compared to yesterday, currently ranging from 37 degrees at High Point to 57 degrees in Atlantic City. JSHN contributor Carl Beams captured this moment at sunrise today at the Belmar Fishing Pier.

The moderation is due to an onshore flow, with the wind blowing inland from the relatively warm ocean. But with the onshore flow comes moisture, and we’ll see a mixture of sun and clouds all day, especially along the coast. Temperatures will be in the 50s, with close to 60 degrees at the coast.

We’ll jump up to the upper 50s to low 60s tomorrow, but there will be more clouds than sun. Showers and mild on Thursday. But we’ll clear for Friday through the weekend, when temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s (possibly 60 on Sunday).
