Up for a little history this weekend? This Saturday, the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia will be celebrating the “Let it Shine: African-American Lutheran History Day from 11:30 to 3:30 p.m.
There will be a catered luncheon and a keynote presentation by the Rev. Dr. James K. Echols, the first African-American to serve as president of a North American Lutheran Seminary. There will also be a candelight jazz concert. Tickets are $50 each; table of 8 is $400. To register,call 215-248-6318. Proceeds benefit the Dr. Grover C. and Irma S. Wright Scholarship Fund
