Mt. Airy Village Fair to be a day of creative games and fun
From a pet fashion show to a slow ice cream eating contest, there are plenty of interesting things to do at the Mt. Airy Village Fair this Sunday, Sept. 18.
Jonathan McGoran, communications director at Weavers Way Co-op, said the event will be a great time to spend with family and friends at Greene Street and Carpenter Lane.
“It’s a unique event,” said McGoran, “all the activities are interactive and it’s a wildly creative environment featuring great food, music, local crafts and some unusual events.”
These unusual events include a pet parade and a “free-for-all” table for people to bring items they don’t want in exchange for other things. The fair will also host a petting zoo, carnival games and a pie-eating contest (adult and kid divisions). The Weavers Way Co-op will be grilling all day and High Point Cafe will feature an old-time Philadelphia fair tradition: genuine lemon sticks.
Music for the fair will be sung by the Big Folkin’ Experience, an interactive music showcase playing a variety of folk, rock, jazz, reggae, bluegrass, and swing.
The fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. For more information, visit www.mtairyvillage.com.
