E. Mt. Airy shootout leaves man in critical condition

A man is in critical condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center after a bar shootout at Reuben Marc’s in East Mount Airy early Friday morning.

The shootout took place at 1:35 a.m. after three masked men attempted to rob a customer in the bar parking lot on Stenton Avenue. The 36-year-old victim was headed over to his car to pick up cash for a bar tab when three black males, wearing dark clothing, approached him and went through his pockets.

One of the suspects shot the man in the chest and lower body. A security guard inside Reuben Marc’s heard the gunshots, came outside and fired at the three males.

The three suspects fled down East Mt. Pleasant Avenue toward Mansfield Avenue.
