Most area Borders spared in Chapter 11 filing

    All things considered, we didn’t fare so badly in the recent string of Borders closings. That’s what Peter Van Allen of the Philadelphia Business Journal says.

    While some cities will see as many as four closures, 10 area locations will remain open in the face of the Chapter 11 reorganization that’s shutting down 200 outlets nationwide.

    Only two nearby stores — in Langhorne and King of Prussia — will close. Perhaps we’re more refined than we’re given credit for?
