A theft case in Millville became a drug case Friday, and an interesting look at the habits of a thief.

When a Cumberland County Walmart employee held Brittany Lane for theft after allegedly seeing her stuff items into her purse, the police got involved.

Some earrings Lane admitted she’d lifted, a hypodermic needle and a crack pipe. For sustenance? Lane also admitted the two Kandy Kakes the officer found in her purse came from a Tastykake box she’d emptied into her bag.

She’s charged with theft and will need $5,000 cash bail.
