Mayoral candidate Jim Kenney spends Saturday in Northwest Philly [gallery]
Democratic mayoral candidate Jim Kenney headed to Northwest Philly on Saturday for meet-and-greets at three events happening in the neighborhood.
First, he stopped by the season opener of the 21st Ward Softball League in Roxborough where he threw the opening pitch. Fourth District Councilman Curtis Jone Jr. and state Rep. Pam DeLissio were also on hand.
He then headed to Germantown’s Vernon Park for a food truck party and to canvass with the city council at-large candidate Helen Gym and the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers. The teachers union annouced their support for Kenney in mid-March.
In his third and final Northwest stop of the day, Kenney headed to the 10th Ward Spring Fling in Chestnut Hill at Platinum Grill.
From there, Kenney headed to events in Northern Liberties, Graduate Hospital and Center City.
