Marple residents bring literature to life with cakes

    Turns out If you give a Mouse a Cookie can get better. When it’s in cake form.

    Kristin LaMonaca, 13, won an award for her baked rendition of the book in the fourth annual Marple Public Library Edible Book Festival.
    Judges library Director Deborah Parsons, Marple Commissioner Dan Leefson and Skippyjon Jones author/illustrator Judy Schachner presented awards to some of the 17 contest entrants of all ages. The Delaware County Times has video of the event, which features icing-covered versions of Thomas the Tank, Wind in the Willows and more.
