Main Line squash coach pleads not guilty to improper contact with teenage girl

A former squash coach at the Main Line’s Shipley School has pleaded not guilty to charges he had improper contact with a 16-year-old girl.

James Civello, 50, was charged with corruption of a minor and endangering the welfare of a child in July after being accused of having a sexual relationship with the girl. The girl and her parents reported the relationship to police shortly before Civello was charged.

The Times-Heralds reports Civello waived his arraignment Wednesday and is scheduled for trial. He remains free after posting 10 percent of $100,000 bail, and is prohibited from contacting the girl, her family or anyone under age 18.
