Macy’s and Phillies seek designers for new ballgirl uniform challenge
Call it Project First Base Line.
The Phillies are looking to outfit their ball girls in new duds and showcase the work of an aspiring designer. To this end, the team is partnering with Macy’s for a fashion-themed contest.
The Macy’s Phillies Ballgirls Uniform Design Challenge is open to amateur designers, as well as fashion and design students. Entrants must be at least 18 years old and live in Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
All entrants need to submit an application, work portfolio with design samples, and 3- to 5-minute DVD/personal video explaining their vision of the new Phillies Ballgirl uniform. Application instructions as well as official rules are located at phillies.com. The deadline to receive entry materials is Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011.
