Lower Delaware snow heavier than predicted

High winds blew snow across already cleared roads and also closed some roads because of downed power lines as Sussex County cleaned up after the first big snow of 2014.

County government was closed there as were other government agencies throughout the state.  5-7 inches fell in many parts of the county.  The storm started as rain, which produced a layer of ice.  That made for tough clean up in some areas.

The Rehoboth Beach boardwalk was shutdown as snow buried the beach community.  Many homes in the area still have their Christmas lights up, which made for some pretty pictures.  As long as you don’t know how cold it is.
