Little citizens

Pa. First Lady Judge Midge Rendell believes in the early education of our youth about the constitutional principles. In a guest post on Constitution Daily, Rendell nods to Allentown School District for its School Violence Prevention Demonstration Program, a K-12 civics curriculum based on authority, responsibility, justice, and privacy.
The way to citizen participation in government, she says, is through civic education. Rendell’s post comes just a few weeks after the Pennsylvania Civic Health Index found the state ranks 35th in the nation for its voter registration and 39th for voter turnout.
