Leash law

Bristol Borough Council will vote next month on ordinances for leash and muzzle laws for dogs. After discussing the matter at Monday’s meeting, council delayed the vote.

Two ordinances proposed would require all dogs on public property to be leashed and pit bulls and related breeds to be muzzled on public property.

Councilman Jim Lutz suggested all dogs weighing more than 25 pounds be muzzled, rather than limit the ordinance to one breed, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

At next month’s meeting, the leash law will see a vote, and the muzzle law will be finalized and voted on.
