Lawyer appeals jail sentence in Buck County hunter’s death

David Manilla wants to appeal the 10- to 25-year jail sentence he received last summer for the 2010 death of Bucks County hunter Barry Groh.

Manilla pleaded no contest lay May to the involuntary manslaughter charges he took on for Groh’s death.
Questions were raised in late 2010, and Manilla was charged with shooting Groh while the men were hunting separately and leaving Groh in a creek to avoid weapons charges.

The Mercury reports Manilla filed his appeal request last week.
