L&I labels Divine Lorraine Hotel a ‘blighting influence’

The Divine Lorraine Hotel on North Broad Street might once have been beautiful, but these days the historic building has a layer or two of grime covering it up.

The Department of Licenses & Inspections has taken notice, sticking a hot pink notice on the building Nov. 28:

“The Department of Licenses and Inspections has determined that this vacant building is a blighting influence,” the notice reads.

And to get the building into compliance, the owner can’t just slap a couple boards over the windows. Window spaces must be filled with framed windows and doorways need actual doors. Otherwise, the owner can appeal the violation. That deadline is just two days away.
