Jenkintown mayor under investigation for underage drinking cover-up

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the mayor of Jenkintown for allegations that he hosted and then tried to cover up an underage drinking party at his home.

The DA will investigate Mayor Ed Foley since he has authority over Jenkintown borough police.

The Inquirer reports a party thrown by Foley’s daughter in the family home April 15 resulted in alcohol poisoning of a foreign exchange student visiting Jenkintown High School.

It’s not clear how exactly Foley tried to cover up the incident, but his lawyer says Foley and his wife were unaware the teenagers were drinking.
