Jason Collins is who he is
In the first paragraph his game-changing Sports Illustrated article, NBA player Jason Collins pointed out that he was black and gay. He’s also tall, athletic, male and was born in America.
Like his race and his sexual orientation, these are all qualities over which he had no control.
None of them define his character or his worth as a human being.
They are simply the luck of the draw.
