Inspection scam

Perhaps not the most common way to dupe people out of personal information, a scam in Chester County is targeting ethnic restaurants by posing as health inspectors.

The Delaware County Times reports many restaurants in the county have received calls from people claiming to be health inspectors who say they’ll be in the restaurants for an inspection and to collect personal information from employees.

Chester County Health Department Director Margaret Rivello said health inspectors will not announce their appearance beforehand, and will show proof of identification when they arrive.
