Subpoenaed

State investigators have served grand jury subpoenas on associates of State Rep. Angel Cruz as they look into allegations of election day misconduct, WHYY’s Dave Davies reports.

Unsuccessful candidate Jonathan Ramos asked the state attorney general’s office to look into allegations that Cruz’s associates intimidated voters in a toughly contested primary election in North Philadelphia.

Cruz says six people who worked for him in the election have been subpoened, but he isn’t worried..

“So let them conduct any investigation,” Cruz said. “We know we did everything by the book like we were taught by the county commissioners, so let them.”
