In custody

A Philadelphia Police officer has turned himself into police on DUI charges from November. Officer William Haviland of the 26th District was suspended late last year with intent to dismiss after driving his patrol car while intoxicated.

Haviland was reportedly on duty while drinking at a bar in the 15th District when he got into a fight with another patron and left the scene in his patrol car. His blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit.

The seven-year veteran officer faces DUI and other charges.
